Whenever possible deliver bad news face to face

You should always deliver bad news face to face when possible for the following reasons:

  • face to face delivery is the most respectful way to deliver bad news
  • face to face delivery provides a more personal and less evasive approach to delivering bad news
  • you can have a face to face meeting as casual of formal as needed or wanted to make the situation more comfortable
  • it allows you to see the immediate reaction to the bad news which allows you to address any problems immediately
  • face to face delivery gives you immediate feedback

It is always better to use face to face delivery of bad news when possible than other methods for all parties involved.

Business Persuasion

A lot of businesses enlist celebrities to advertise their products. By doing this, they are persuading you, the consumer, to buy their products by showing you beloved celebrities, like Ellen, to sponsor their products. If Ellen is using these beauty products, then they must work, right? Wrong, they are about as useful as the cheaper products. The only thing better with this product is the business’s profit off of the consumer, making this an important business tactic for the up and coming business owner.

Thank you notes after interviews

You should always send a thank you note after job interviews because it does the following:

  • impresses employers with your follow through
  • shows courtesy toward the interviewer
  • shows your understanding of professional courtesy
  • conveys your interest in the position
  • provides you an opportunity to get back in front of the employer again, in case you have faded from the memory of an employer who met too many people too quickly
  • allows you to introduce information that you neglected to mention in the interview
  • demonstrates your skill at written (or emailed) communications
  • meets your competition so you don’t lose an opportunity simply because your competitor sent a thank you

It is always smarter to write a thank you letter than to rely on first impressions.
